A home assessment shouldn't be a one-time event
Most home assessments end the moment they're printed — a snapshot that starts aging the day it's made. But a home changes: work gets done, habits shift, the porch light dies in February, the walkway heaves after a wet spring. Readiness is a loop, not a photo.
That's the difference DwellReady is built around: the same guided walkthrough, run again months or a year later, compared honestly — so “what changed?” has an answer.
The loop, stage by stage
1. First assessment
A guided, room-by-room walkthrough of observable conditions. Every finding shows why it appeared and links to the public guidance behind it.
2. Action Plan
Findings become projects with priorities — bundled by who might typically help (one electrician visit, one handyman afternoon), so the list turns into a small number of real-world jobs.
3. Improvements
As projects finish, record the completion: date, provider, cost, after photos — each linked back to the finding that prompted it.
4. Reassessment
Run the same walkthrough again after the work is done. The comparison is deterministic — same questions, honestly answered.
5. Progress Report
A clear report of what changed between the two walkthroughs: what's no longer identified, what still is, and what's new.
An improvement, recorded
Fictional sample data — a completed project with its full finding → project → completion history:

Longer TermNew in the latest walkthrough.
A factual record of your answers — reassessing shows what changed, not that a home is “safe.”
“No longer identified” means a finding didn't appear in the latest walkthrough based on the answers given then — it is not a certification that a condition is permanently resolved. Recorded improvements (dates, photos, costs) are what connect a disappearance to the work that likely caused it.
